Patience

So this has been on my mind for a long time now. Patience some have lots some have some and some don't really have any at all. Sometimes having lots of patience is really important. While I have been serving my mission I have learned a lot of patience. There are people who you have to have tons of patience for. If you don't have that patience you can possible push them away from learning about Jesus Christ. There is always a way to learn more patience. Sometimes it is with a new missionary companion. There are some things you don't agree with them on. Or sometimes it is something they do. You just have to tell yourself don't worry about it doesn't mean anything in the long run. So when you are getting frustrated because something is taking to long remember you are learning patience and it will help you out in the future.

The Atonement

The Atonement is very important. It has much effect in all of our lives. It helps us through many things and Elder C. Scott Grow of the Quorum of the Seventy puts it in perfect perceptive.

To Be or Not To Be

Tithing

Yes the title does say tithing. It is very important. Throughout the scriptures you see a lot of instances of tithing. How about another talk this one is about... yep tithing. It is from Elder Carl B. Pratt of the Quorum of the Seventy. So here is his talk in words It is titled The Lord's Richest Blessings.

Christ coming with healing on His wings

There are many prophecies of Jesus Christ and many on His crucifixion. He did this all because He loves us. There is a scripture that I want to focus on it is in The Book of Mormon in 2nd Nephi chapter 25 verse 13 and it says...

 13Behold, they will ^acrucify him; and after he is laid in a ^bsepulchre for the space of ^cthree days he shall ^drise from the dead, with healing in his wings; and all those who shall believe on his name shall be saved in the kingdom of God. Wherefore, my soul delighteth to prophesy concerning him, for I have ^eseen his day, and my heart doth magnify his holy name.

So yeah it pretty much says it all. Christ is the only one who can save mankind. It is because of what He went through that we can be saved. He will come again and it will be with healing on His wings. No one can save mankind. Only Christ can save mankind.

Just because you sin doesn't mean you are bad

I read this article in the Ensign this morning. The Ensign is a magazine that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints puts out every month with stories in it that are good and help the members of the Church. It is on Pornography and how the individual went through the repentance process. It is a good story. Just because someone relapses doesn't mean that the person can't over come the addiction again. Lord watches out for his fold

So I know what happened in Joplin Missouri was a while ago but someone helped me with this idea. There is many things to look for in all the destruction many look at the bad and few look at the good. Many ask this question why do bad things happen to good people? It is because everyone needs bad things to happen to them to make them humble again. Anyways, like I was saying there are many things to look for in destruction. Look for the good. Sure there were many people who died but there was also many who survived. That is always good. The people in Joplin became closer because of this. The city was united. So as you can tell the Lord was watching out for his fold. He protects the righteous. I don't know if those who died were all bad people sometimes good people have to die because they are needed somewhere else. The Lord loves everyone and as seen recent he protected those in Joplin Missouri so look for the good and the Lord always protects those of his fold. So stay happy when something bad happens there is always good in the end.

So I know I have done a few of this talks but as I was reading them I felt like I needed to post this one. So like before I will give it in words and video form.

Tight like a dish

There are a people in the Book of Mormon known as the Jaredites their history is an interesting one. I will not go into their history. I want to talk about something they did. They were crossing the wilderness. They come to this huge body of water. I don't know where it was or what body of water. It could of been any body of water. So when they get to this water the Lord tells them to build barges. So they do and one phrase in there is like unto a dish. This is found in the Book of Ether Chapter 2 verse 17 and it says...


17And they were built after a manner that they were exceedingly^atight, even that they would hold water like unto a dish; and the bottom thereof was tight like unto a dish; and the sides thereof were tight like unto a dish; and the ends thereof were peaked; and the top thereof was tight like unto a dish; and the length thereof was the length of a tree; and the door thereof, when it was shut, was tight like unto a dish.


 I want to focus on tight like unto a dish. We should have our lives like this the best we can. I am not telling you you have to live like this but try. If we have our lives like this it will be better. If they are tight like a dish it is harder for bad things to enter in out lives. Just imagine what you would consider bad. Maybe it could become 10 times worse. If our lives are not in order than they could fall apart because we are not focused and we are letting this all happen. Try to keep you life like that of the Jaredite barges tight like unto a dish. It will be really helpful. 

Desire

I don't know how to say it as well as Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. So I will post his talk in video and words like I did before.

Sin

Ok so this thought came to me a few weeks ago. It is kinda weird so bare with me. Imagine you are in the shower and you turn up the hot water. As it gets hotter you say ahh now that feels better. Sometimes you say it is too hot. Well that is how sin can be. You always say oh just a little bit more it won't hurt anyone. This is how sin works oh a little more won't hurt, just a little more. This happens until you are so far in that it is hard to turn around and come back. But it is possible. There is something always in the way that tempts you to do sin. It is hard but when you beat the temptation it is really worth it and you will feel better afterwords. So when sin comes don't give in and you will be all the better.
